Keirans Legacy is honoured to announce that it has been awarded a £50,000 grant to support the acquisition of an energy-efficient vehicle, a crucial step in enhancing the charity’s sustainability and ensuring it can continue its lifesaving work across Scotland. This funding will help further the charity’s mission to save lives and promote the health and safety of communities nationwide.
Keirans Legacy was founded in honour of Keiran, a much-loved son, friend, and passionate young man, who tragically lost his life in a cycling accident at the age of 16. Keiran’s family and friends remember him for his boundless energy, his love of mountain biking, his passion for sport and the outdoors, and his keen interest in engineering. He was also known for his infectious sense of humour and the banter he shared with those closest to him. His passing left a profound hole in the hearts of all who knew him.
This charity is not just a project—it is a tribute to the love Keiran’s family has for him, and to the overwhelming support they’ve received from the local community, businesses, and individuals far and wide. It stands as a lasting memorial to the values Keiran lived by—compassion, kindness, and a commitment to helping others.
Since its inception, Keirans Legacy has saved 23 lives and distributed 321 defibrillators across Scotland. The charity has equipped Police Scotland’s fast-response vehicles across the country with defibrillators, ensuring first responders are always ready to act in life-or-death situations. Most recently, Keirans Legacy extended its lifesaving mission to the vehicles of Moray Police, ensuring that even more communities are covered by these vital devices.
This new energy-efficient vehicle will help the charity continue its lifesaving work while also taking important steps toward reducing its environmental impact. It represents both a commitment to the future and a dedication to preserving the honour of Keiran’s life and the love his family has for him.
